LA Compost is now recruiting volunteers to help tackle their biggest volunteer challenge yet, The Great Compost Challenge! On October 14th, 2023, LA Compost is calling upon individuals and teams throughout Los Angeles to grab a pitchfork, dig into a pile, and step up to The Great Compost Challenge!

The Great Compost Challenge will unite Angelenos across four different Compost Hubs under one common goal: ensure that food scraps aren’t sent to landfills but instead transformed into compost that can help heal our Earth.

Sites include:

• Cottonwood Urban Farm (Panorama City)

• Griffith Park Regional Compost Hub (Los Angeles)

• CultivaLA Farm (South El Monte)

• Grow Good Urban Farm (Bell Gardens)
