Regrowth: A 5k Walk/Run Honoring the Cycle of Life
About the Workshop:
Join LA Compost and South Central Run Club on November 2nd at 9 AM at Carver Middle School Garden for the Re/Growth 5K Walk/Run, a community event inspired by the spirit of Día de los Muertos. Together, we will reflect on the cycle of birth, death, and renewal as we walk and run through South Central. Afterward, we’ll host a discussion between SCRC and LA Compost about how composting is essential to individual and communal wellness. Enjoy nutritious foods, coffee from Café Calle, and participate in a special "Renewal" ceremony to close out the event.
All are welcome to join as we come together to celebrate life, honor ancestors, and foster regeneration for ourselves and our community.
About our partner:
LA Compost has a long-standing partnership with Carver Middle School through activation of the school garden. This garden has become a hub for community and resource sharing in the South Central LA. We encourage people from South Central LA and surrounding communities to join us at "Grounded Wellness" events and connect with this thriving network.
