About the Workshop:
Participants will have the opportunity to create, collaborate, and publish their own Yerbitas or plants zine. Participants will walk through the Carver Middle School garden and identify all yerbitas or plants. After selecting one or a couple of yerbitas participants will be asked to draw and document if their yerbitas have any medicinal properties. The goal of our workshop is to recognize, identify, and harness existing ancestral, and intergenerational knowledge within the garden. Open to all ages, but parents must be present to assist their children. We can accommodate as many people as possible.
What are Zines?
Zines serve as a creative outlet for publishing art, poems, writing, information, and anything else you want to express without requiring external approval.
