Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Community groups including schools, churches, neighborhood associations, community gardens, and other nonprofit organizations.

  • Community Microscopy workshops are public programs that are aimed to be accessible to all Angelenos. If you’re interested in a private workshop, please indicate so on the interest form below and we’ll respond with options that may work for you. Note that our capacity for private workshops is extremely limited, and the aim of our programs is to provide accessible education to all.

  • At least one group representative that will be onsite the day of the workshop, assistance promoting the workshop both online and directly to your group, and a gathering space large enough for 15 people at a minimum to attend the workshop. It is also preferred that groups have soil or compost samples available to be used during the workshop.

  • For community-based groups that are aligned with our mission and agree to open the workshop to the public (RSVPs monitored by LA Compost to manage capacity), there will be no cost to participate.
